Creating Private Images, Videos, and 360s

Last updated by Rachel Cohen on October 18, 2016 18:53

By default, ThingLink creations are built in the Public format. That means they can be found on Google, in the ThingLink search, and seen on your ThingLink profile. Your images, videos and 360s can be changed to make them more private.

Images

In the image editor, select the Settings button below the image. There, use the drop down menu to select between Public, Unlisted, and Private.

Public images can be easily found on a user profile, in the Stream of followers, through ThingLink search, and through Google search. Images are Public by default.

Unlisted images can only be found where they have been embedded, or with the exact ThingLink URL of the image. They will not appear on the profile, in searches, or in the Stream.

Private images can only be found with the direct ThingLink URL and with a passkey that ThingLink generates for you.

Videos

In the video editor, select video settings beneath the video. There, use the check box to choose the video's visibility.

With the Public Access box checked, the video can be easily found on a user profile, in the Stream of followers, through ThingLink search, and through Google search. With the box unchecked, the video is unlisted and can only be found where embedded and with the direct ThingLink URL.

360

In the 360 editor, select Settings beneath the 360 image. There, use the check box to choose the 360 image's visibility.

With the Public Access box checked, the 360 image can be easily found on a user profile, in the Stream of followers, through ThingLink search, and through Google search. With the box unchecked, the 360 image is unlisted and can only be found where embedded and with the direct ThingLink URL.
