Note: this article is about the new beta interface called Saimaa. If your interface looks different, please see this article instead.
Please note that your publishing options are defined based on your account type (Education, Marketing & Editorial, or eLearning) and your subscription plan.
Open a scene you'd like to publish, then click the blue 'Share' button in the upper-right corner:
This will open a new window with 3 different sharing options described below: "Embed media", "Share link", "Publish to social".
Embedding
Embed media tab provides you with the embed code for the scene. The embed code is perfect for sharing the content on your own website or on a different platform, such as your LMS. In most cases, your content will appear seamlessly on your site, fully interactive. Note that website creators and certain blogs (Wix, WordPress, etc.) may limit iframe embed's functionality. Sample embed codes, as well as more notes regarding ThingLink embeds, are available in this article.
Sharing links & QR codes
Share link provides a shareable link that directs viewers to the page you are currently on. They will not need to sign up or log in in order to see the content if it's privacy setting is 'Public' or 'Unlisted'. You can also check the 'Hide ThingLink interface' box to share the content in full-screen mode.
You can click on the 'QR' sign to the right of the link to get a shareable QR code:
Sharing to social media
Publish to social tab allows you to post the shareable link directly to Facebook, Twitter and Google Classroom. Please note that only ThingLinks will stay interactive only on Twitter - you can read more about it here.
Downloading for offline use
If your subscription plan allows you to download ThingLinks for offline use, you can click on the cloud icon ('Download offline') next to the Share button. This will bring up a new window where you can download the app and paste the scene token to save an interactive copy of your scene - or a whole tour! - on your device. Please see this article for more information.
Sharing to Microsoft Teams
If you are using ThingLink via Microsoft Teams, you'll see a fourth containing with a deep link that creates an interactive popup window inside Teams. Simply copy the link and paste it to your chat/channels - or see this article for more details.
Changing the privacy settings
If you intend to share your work with someone who does not have a ThingLink account, you'll need to change the privacy setting to 'Unlisted' or 'Public'. You can change this setting by clicking on the eye icon on the bar above the scene. This will bring up a new window:
You can learn more about privacy settings here.
