There are two ways to use ThingLink with your students:
- Sharing content with students, i.e. creating content for your students
- Creating content with students, i.e. having your students create content
Sharing the content you create with your students can be done from your free account. After creation, click the Share button to access the link and embed code for the creation. Use that information to share wherever you prefer.
A free teacher account gives you full access to the editor and allows you to share images, 360 images and videos with 1000 views total. These views do not refresh yearly or monthly.
Allowing students to create content requires a paid teacher account. Free teacher accounts do not include student seats. You must upgrade to a paid teacher option in order to register your students. Even if it is not important to you to be linked to your students, or to use folders and groups, you cannot access an invite code for your students without a paid teacher plan.
Some teachers may be tempted to advise students to register as business users in order to register them for free. We strongly advise against this for several reasons:
- This violates our terms of use and can result in you being banned from the service
- Business accounts do not have the same safe viewing features that education accounts have. This means that if you instruct your students to register as business users, you are opening them up to viewing material inappropriate for students. Your instructions and misuse of the product may result in your students seeing any images uploaded by our business users which may not be appropriate.
- Free business users cannot share their work, meaning you will not be able to see the work your students create.
We realize that teacher's budgets are very limited and that is why our Teacher products are priced much lower than our offerings for business users.
