Text blocks are simple text messages you can display to the learner to provide feedback or other information without using ThingLink scenes. Text blocks consist of a title and description text. The description text is what is shown to the user, while the title is the name of the block you'll see in the scenario editor.
You can use the text formatting options shown above the main text box to format your text, insert links and images:
We recommend using the Visual editing mode when adding content to a text block, as it provides a live preview of how the block will appear in the scenario. You can also switch to the Markdown option if you prefer working with plain text formatting. This is useful if you need to add alt text to an image inside the text block, or if you prefer working with markdown formatting.
Options to enhance your text block
You can add images to a text block by clicking the 'Image' icon above the main text box and selecting a file from your computer. Image upload specifications: JPEG, PNG, or GIF images up to 25 MB and 12000x12000 pixels. Recommended file size: 5 MB or less. You can also click the 'Suggest image' button to generate a matching image with AI.
You can also insert audio by clicking the 'Audio' button and uploading an MP3 file. This can be used to add an extra layer of immersiveness or provide additional context.
To quickly refine or edit your text, click the 'Re-write' button above the text editor.
Additionally, to make your scenario more interactive, you can transform the text block into an AI-generated scene by clicking 'Convert to ThingLink Scene'. The scene will include automatically generated tags along with content and suggestions based on the text from the original text block.
Note: this will replace the text block. We recommend cloning the block first.
