- Note: Your account must have access to AI tools in order to use this feature.
- In the menu that appears, check that the text matches what you’d like to narrate, or edit it as needed.
- Select the mode:
- Use Single speaker for a simple, continuous narration.
- Use Multi speakers to create a podcast-style dialogue. When using Multi speakers, adjust your text as described below or use the 'Automatically format text' button for the best results.
- Select the voice(s) you’d like to use.
- Click Generate audio.
Once the audio is generated, an audio player will appear in the menu. Click the Play button to review it, or simply click Save to add it to your text block.
Differences between Single speaker and Multi speakers modes
The Single speaker mode reads aloud all the text you provide in the input field. Use this mode to generate a simple, continuous narration.
The Multi speakers mode generates a podcast-like dialogue between two speakers based on the text you provide. When choosing the Multi speakers mode, you need to format the text so the AI can tell which lines belong to each speaker, for example:
Speaker1: Welcome to our fire safety scenario training.
Speaker2: Your goal is to navigate through the building, making critical decisions to ensure your safety.
Speaker1: next phraseAlternatively, you can use the 'Automatically format text' button at the bottom of the menu to let AI adjust your text automatically. We strongly recommend this to save time, but note that it will change the text to fit the required format.
Tips
- Editing the text in the 'Generate Narration' menu does not alter the text of the text block
ThingLink automatically removes any formatting or images from the text block when generating audio.
If you change the text after generating audio, you’ll need to generate it again to update the narration.
Decide whether you want to narrate the whole text block or only part of it.
