Tarina is a companion app for iPhones and iPads, available through the App Store. Schools can install it on managed devices using Jamf Pro or Microsoft Intune, or allow students and teachers to install it directly.
Deploy with Jamf Pro
In Jamf Pro, administrators can add Tarina from the App Store and distribute it to individual devices or groups.
- Open Devices > Mobile Device Apps in Jamf Pro and select + New.
- Choose App Store app or apps purchased in volume, search for Tarina, and add it.
- Choose your installation settings, then assign the app to the required devices or groups.
For illustrated instructions, see Deploy ThingLink apps with Jamf.
Deploy with Microsoft Intune
In Intune, administrators can add Tarina as an iOS store app and assign it to managed groups.
- Open the Microsoft Intune admin center and select Apps > All apps > Create.
- Choose iOS store app, search the App Store for Tarina, and add it.
- Review the app settings and assign Tarina to the appropriate users or devices.
For detailed instructions, see Microsoft's documentation on Adding iOS Store Apps to Microsoft Intune.
Using Apple School Manager
Schools using Apple School Manager can obtain Tarina through Apps and Books, then distribute it through their connected MDM solution (such as Jamf Pro or Intune). This supports device-based app assignment without requiring individual student Apple Accounts. Apple School Manager is part of the managed distribution process, not a separate app deployment tool.
See Apple’s Apps and Books documentation for more information.
Install directly from the App Store
If your school prefers unmanaged installation, students and teachers can download Tarina directly from the App Store on compatible iPhones and iPads. This may not be available on devices where the school restricts App Store downloads.

After installation
Students can create and edit projects locally without signing in. They only need to sign in to their ThingLink account when they want to upload, share, or submit their work to a teacher’s folder.
