ArborXR Insights integration with ThingLink XR

Overview

The ThingLink and ArborXR Insights integration lets you report learner activity from ThingLink scenarios to ArborXR Insights. If you use ArborXR’s LMS integration, that data can also be synced to your learning management.

Before you start

To use this integration, you need:

• Access to ArborXR Insights

• Access to a special version of the ThingLink XR app that includes the ArborXR Insights integration

To request access to the special version of the app, contact our team and share your ArborXR organization slug.

Supported content

The integration currently supports ThingLink scenarios only. Your scenario must be published to your landing page.

The integration works with:

• private content and private landing pages that require sign-in

• public content and public landing pages that are accessed with your Organization ID

Using ArborXR Insights with an LMS

If you are using ArborXR’s LMS integration, the setup works as follows:

1. In ArborXR Insights, an administrator creates a module target for the scenario.

2. The administrator creates an LTI connection for that module target and configures the LTI tool in the LMS.

3. The administrator adds the assignment or module item in the LMS.

4. The learner launches the assignment in the LMS and receives an ArborXR pin code.

5. The learner opens the ThingLink XR app and enters the pin code.

6. After opening the landing page, the learner is automatically redirected to the assigned scenario.

Using ArborXR Insights without an LMS

If you are not using the LMS integration:

1. Direct learners to the ThingLink XR app with ArborXR Insights enabled.

2. Learners authenticate with ArborXR. The exact method will depend on the Headset Login Provider you've selected under ArborXR Insight settings.

3. Learners open your ThingLink landing page either by entering the page ID with the Organization ID option or by signing in to their ThingLink account with the Account option.

4. After signing in, learners can open any available scenario.

5. Reporting begins as soon as the learner loads a scenario. The data will be reported for all scenarios, but you'll be able to distinguish between scenarios using event metadata.

Reported data

The integration uses standard ArborXR reports. Reported data can also be filtered by module target if you are using the LMS integration.
