ThingLink multimedia editor offers a number of AI-powered tools designed to simplify the editing process and help you get started quickly.
- Use AI to generate tags
- Generate images inside the tags
- Organizational accounts: controlling access to AI tools
You can also use AI tools to generate background 2D or 360-degree images - see this article for more information.
Use AI to generate tags
When editing an image, 360° image, or video that doesn't have any tags yet, a prompt will appear at the top of the screen, asking if you need any help with creating your first tags. Click the 'Continue' button, enter a description of your project, and click 'Continue' again to proceed:
ThingLink will use AI to generate between 2 to 9 'Text and media' tags with text and image recommendations based on the text prompt. You can customize these tags by adding images or videos, editing the text, or removing tags that don’t fit your needs. You can create new tags from scratch using the 'Add tag' button.
For better results, you can upload a PDF file along with the text prompt by clicking the 'Upload PDF' button below the text input field. The AI will analyze the PDF for additional context and use the information from the PDF to generate tags.
This tool is designed to help you get a quick start on your project while also serving as a great way to demonstrate how tags work to colleagues or students who are new to ThingLink.
Generate images inside the tags
If you generate tags for your media project, you’ll also see image recommendations within each tag. You can use AI to generate an image that fits the recommendation. Simply open a tag and click the 'Generate with AI' button (stars icon) in the left side panel under the 'Media files' section:
Note that:
- This tool is available on paid accounts only.
- Each image generation will use one of the image generation credits that come with your ThingLink subscription, similar to AI tools for generating background images.
Organizational accounts: controlling access to AI tools
If you have an organizational ThingLink account (e.g. a school, university, or business account), all AI tools are available to all users except students.
Administrator users can control access to AI tools via the Organization page -> Settings tab. Simply scroll down to the 'AI features' setting, click the 'Edit' button and select one of the options:
- Enable AI tools for all users,
- Enable AI tools for all users except students (default option),
- Disable AI tools for all users.
