You can control what content your learners see on the landing page by assigning content to groups. This ensures that learners only access content relevant to them.
Scenes
To show specific scenes only to certain groups:
- Set up ThingLink groups for each group of learners. This can be based on their job responsibility or what training materials they need to access.
- Create a folder and move the scene(s) into it.
- Set all scenes’ visibility setting to ‘Private’ (you can bulk select all the scenes and change the visibility)
- Share the folder with the desired group(s) by granting access through ‘Manage access’.
- Go to your Landing Page settings, create a playlist, and add the content to the playlist.
Only the groups with access to the folder will be able to see the scene on the Landing Page.
Scenarios
To restrict access to a scenario:
- Set up ThingLink groups for each group of learners.
- Open the scenario and click ‘Manage access’
- Set the scenario's visibility to ‘Private’
- Add the appropriate group(s) to grant them ‘Viewer’ access.
- Go to your Landing Page settings, create a playlist, and add the scenario to the playlist.
Example
- Scene “CPR Training” is shared with the group “CPR Trainees”
- Scene “Medical Emergencies” is shared with the group “Medical Responders”
- Scenario “First Aid Essentials” is shared with both the group “CPR Trainees” and the group “Medical Responders”
-> Visibility on the Landing Page:
- Learners in group “CPR Trainees” see: scene “CPR Training” and scenario “First Aid Essentials”
- Learners in group “Medical Responders” see: scene “Medical Emergencies” and scenario “First Aid Essentials”
Here’s a side-by-side comparison of what Learner A, who belongs to the "CPR Trainees" group, would see versus what Learner B, from the "Medical Responders" group, would see on the Landing page:
You can create groups via ‘Organization’ -> ‘Groups’ tab. Learn more about creating groups here.
